1) Assumed water consumption: 1980: 55m 3 /yr, 1987: 65m 3 /yr and 2005: 80m 3 /yr per capita.
2) Estimate made on the basis of water consumption during the years 1971-76. The slaughterhouse
has planned an expansion of the production to max. 8,000 slaughterings per week (in 1979 approx.
4,800 pigs were slaughtered per week).
3) Estimate made on the basis of water consumption during the years 1971-76.
4) Total volume (based on water consumption and reduced by large-scale consumers) is divided
according to industrial area into catchment for North- and South-plant, respectively. Newly
developed industrial areas have for example been included by 5,000 m 3 /(ha · yr). The water
consumption for existing industries is assumed to be unchanged in the planning period.
5) Infiltration is estimated at 0.15 m/yr (approx. 0.051/(s·ha)).
6) Consumption period: 365 d/yr.
7) Consumption period: 250 d/yr.
8) Consumption period: 200 d/yr.
9) In the first part of 1979 an average of approx. 6,400 m 3 I d has been measured at the North-plant on
weekdays with dry weather.
10) Hourly factor for the average day : 2.
11) Hourly factor for the average day: 4, based on measurements in 1979.
Calculation of wastewater volumes, Nykebing F (Denmark). The slaughterhouse is FSA and the vegetables
cannery Samodan /14/.
1.2. Wastewater components
Wastewater components can be divided into different main groups as shown in
Table 1.5. In the following the composition of different types of wastewater is
shown, based on domestic wastewater and municipal wastewater without any
essential industrial influence.
