Space and Earth Remote Sensing: GIS Application to Environmental Impact Studies
the year, for example) and to distinguish isolated branches (January and July
data).
4 CONCLUSION
The rose-diagram technique shows very promising results, particularly when the
reference point is selected on the basis of meaningful consideration of the final
users (Natural Preservation Area, rain forest, etc.). The results of this study are
candidates for use in the EXPRESSO (EXPeriment for Regional Source and Sinks
of Oxidants) experiment and are to be inserted in the VFIS-Vegetation Fire
Information System of MTV. Definition of similar quantities, considering a
reference line (Savanna-Forest transition line, etc.) requires further studies.
