13 Combined in Situ Nick Translation and mRNA FISH for Simultaneous Detection
175
After blocking with bovine serum albumin (5% in 4xSSC), specific biotin
is detected with Cy3labeled streptavidin (1:150 in 4xSSC). After washing,
the tissue sections are counterstained with antifade solution containing
DAPI (1 Ilg/ml).
HE staining
Unprocessed photographs or digital images are taken from sections with
strong positive signals. In a following step, the same slide is stained routinely with hematoxylin and eosin. The same fields of vision are re-examined and photographed with a bright-field microscope for histomorphological analysis.
