A reefal facies that progresses from a coral head zone,
through a limestone composed almost entirely of Acropora
cervicornis, a reef crest zone of Acropora palmata, and
a rear zone of mainly sediments and head corals.
A back reef facies, mainly calcarenites or calcilutites with
scattered coral thickets, with lithified lime sands to landwards sometimes replaced by coralline algal nodules or
“rhodolites.” Much of the central part of the back reef
