V. R. NAIR and T. S. S. RAo:
Sea. The range of abundance of the species is 0 -19.1 %. The maximum values are
represented by small patches near and off Somalia (1940 per std. haul), off Kenya, off
Ceylon and far south of Ceylon. Pt. draco is poorly distributed in the northern and
southeastern part. The general pattern of distribution for both periods is roughly the
same. The Somalian region has high values of Pt. draco during the SW monsoon which
is not so marked in the other season. The average number per haul during the SW monsoon is 1.2 times more abundant than that in the NE monsoon period.
