activity, induced from anoxia.
A recent work on Cameroon mangrove soils has concerned their morphological
characteristics through soil profiles (Fig. 3.3), the description of their physical and
chemical characteristics in relation with the degradation level of forest vegetation
and the ability to curb the phenomenon of climate change through carbon sequestration. The average stocks of carbon sequestered have been estimated at 2289.33 ±
407 Mg.ha
−1
in Bamusso (Rio del Rey group) and 2025.89 ± 165 Mg.ha
−1
in Campo
(Ndema-Nsombo et al. 2016).
