During the three years of observation air temperatures reached values between
- 10 °C and + 28 °C (Fig. 3.2.2). In February 1994 a cold spell of ten days took
place with temperatures below 0 0c, Afterwards the air temperature increased
continuously. Maximum values of 26 °C were reached in July and August. From
August onwards the values decreased slowly. In autumn and winter air temperatures ranged from - 2 °C to 10 0c,
In January 1995 temperatures were below 0 °C for a short period, from the
middle of May until the middle of October values over 10 °C were measured with
maximum values in July and August around 23 0c, Temperatures dropped below
o °C in December. The low temperatures lasted, with a few exceptions, for an
unusually long duration of nearly four months. In April 1996 the temperatures rose
for a short period up to 17 °C, but dropped subsequently below 10 0c, By the end
of May temperatures remained above 10 0c, Except for a few record values the air
temperatures remained below 20 °C over the summer period. 1996 can be considered as an exceptionally cold year.
