Circadian Activity Rhythm in the CNS and its Control
261
RAO:
I have some idea of the active fraction; it seems to be heat stable.
WALTER:
Although it is commonly accepted that biological rhythmic events are maintained by external forces, there are some rhythms for which it is difficult to
identify such a force. Have you investigated the possibility that the rhythms
you observe are an inherent part of the scorpion and do not require an external
stimulus?
RAO:
Many biologists believe these are of an inherent nature based on some oscillators in some key cellular reactions.
