Brick-Block Revetments
Brick-block revetments are large-scale constructions which often serve to protect creeks
and riverbanks from erosion by currents and waves. Interlocking brick blocks overlaying filter beds of crushed brick bat (10-12 em thick) are used for this purpose (Fig. 16.3).
In addition, laterite boulders are commonly employed for toe protection. The slopes
facing the rivers generally measure 18-20 degrees.
