2 Mathematical Simulation of Wave Propagation at Global Distances
of this zone, resulting in increased regional wave density. At the same time,
northeast waves deviate from the great circle arc and moved more intensively towards Antarctica due to the currents. The problem of wave spectrum
transformation in non-uniform currents is considered in more detailed in the
following chapters. Only the kinematic evaluation revealing the influence of
small-gradient non-uniform currents on waves propagating over global distances has been presented in this section. The influence of currents appears
to be comparable with the effect of the Earth's surface sphericity.
