Ivanov and Piskun: Distribution of River Water and Suspended Sediment Loads
249
sections. As is seen from Table 6 which presents generalized evidence on the distribution of
water and sediment load discharges in the main arms of the Indigirka delta, the fraction of
suspended matter transported by the main branches approximately corresponds to their water
content.

(in % of water runoff in the river).

Conclusion
In conclusion, it should be noted that the studies performed, have shown the use of a complex
of full-scale, model and calculated data to be fruitful for estimates of the water and channel
regime in complicated river delta forks of the Arctic under conditions of complicated river/sea
interaction. Further development of methods is to be directed toward improving calculations of
the sediment load transport as a basis for estimates of transfer of pollutants, their spreading in
the deltas and export to the sea.
