A subsequent zonal section through the eastern basin by F /S METEOR
in November- December 1994 shows colder, deeper, denser LSW characteristics in the Southern Rockall Trough at that time [Sy, Koltermann and
Paul, 1994], and these conditions were again encountered in even more extreme form in this area during F /S VALDIVIA Cruise 154 in May-June
1995 [Manfred Bersch, 1995, pers comm]. It is therefore suggested by Sy
