Functionally Substituted Elementanes
If such compounds actually contain the typical functional groups of
organic chemistry, the customary ranking order of functional compound classes (see Table 7) within the limits of substitutive or conjunctive
(Chern. Abstr.) nomenclature is reinstated, then requiring all organometall{oid)ic fragments to be named as substituent prefixes.

{Pentamethoxy--'.6_ tellanyl)benzene-l ,3dicarboxylic acid dimethyl ester
substitutively: 2-DimethylborylN,N,N',N -tetramethylbenzene-l ,3diylbismethanamine
conjunctively (Chemical Abstracts):
2-Dimethylboryl-N,N,N ,N' -tetramethylbenzene-l,3-dimethanamine
Reflecting the significance of coordination nomenclature, names focusing
on the metal{loid) atom are also frequently used here: e.g. dimethyl-[2,6bis{dimethylaminomethyl)phenyl]boron for the last example above.

Elementanes with Repeating Diads
Special rules are valid for chains and rings assembled from regularly
ordered diads of two different element types. Chains here must end with
