acknowledgement and result in more fluent and extensive business relations
than do direct binary relations. The former improve the external and internal
image of the laboratory's parent body and inspire confidence from the client or
end user.
In addition to this basic advantage, other, more specific aspects benefit from
the institution of Quality Assurance. The following are some of the more salient:
(a) Work has to be rationalized by eliminating superfluous, redundant operations in response to the need to carefully plan the laboratory activities in
compiling the Quality Manual. Any defects or mistakes arising during daily
activities will thus be clearly exposed.
(b) Establishing and specifying goals is facilitated, hesitation is minimized and
human relations are made more fluent.
(c) Extensive documentation is gathered that is highly valuable with a view to
making educated decisions about the internal organization of the laboratory
and facilitating achievement of the goals of its parent body.
(d) Training and encouragement for staff at all laboratory levels is provided.
(e) New jobs (e. g. members of the Quality Assurance Unit within the framework
of GLPs) are created.
