may be user defined. Stereotypes are one of three extensibility mechanisms in UML.
The others are constraint and tagged value.
strong substitutability
ability for any instance of a class that is a descendant under inheritance or realization
of another class, type or interface to be used in lieu of an instance of its ancestor in
any context (lS039 2003)
NOTE
The weaker forms of substitutability make various restrietions on
the context of the implied substitution.
subcomplex
complex aH ofwhose elements are also in a larger complex (IS039 2003)
NOTE
Since the definitions of geometrie complex and topological complex require only that they be closed under boundary operations, the set of any primitives of a particular dimension and below is always a subcomplex of the original,
larger complex. Thus, any fuH planar topologie al complex contains an edge-node
graph as a subcomplex.
surface
2-dimensional geometrie primitive, locally representing a continuous image of a region of a plane (lS039 2003)
NOTE
The boundary of a surface is the set of oriented, closed curves that
delineate the limits of the surface. Surfaces that are isomorphie to a sphere, or to an
n-torus (a topological sphere with n "handles") have no boundary. Such surfaces are
called cycles.
surface patch
2-dimensional, connected geometrie object used to represent a continuous portion of
a surface using homogeneous interpolation and definition methods (lS039 2003)
System Under Test (SUT)
computer hardware, software, and communication network required to support IUT
(lS0372000
temporal co ordinate
distance from the origin of the interval sc ale used as the basis for a temporal coordinate system (lS040 2002)
temporal coordinate system
temporal reference system based on an interval scale on which distance is measured
as a multiple of a single unit of time (lS040 2002)
temporal feature association
feature association characterized by a reference to time or to a temporal constraint
(lS040 2002)
