3.4.3 Data dictionary registers (ISO 19126)
The ISO 19126 (Profiles for feature data dietionary registers and feature eatalogue
registers) is a profile of the ISO 19110 and is a data dietionary deseribing the set of
features and attributes that may be used to ereate a feature eatalogue.
The ISO 19126 standardises the feature eatalogue ofthe digital geographie information domain of the military in NATO eountries, in partieular the Feature and Attribute Coding Catalogue (FACC). The Digital Geographie Information Working
Group (DGIWG) ofNATO maintains it.
The ISO 19126 is linked to other standards ofthe ISO 19100 family, in partieular
to the ISO 19135 (Proeedures for registration of geographieal information items) and
to the ISO 19106 (Profiles). The ISO 19126 may serve as a guide for other information eommunities to develop other eompatible registers that may work in a system of
authoritative refereneing.
