The main pan-European actions focus on the Baltic Sea, the Mediterranean and
Black Sea, and the Arctic Ocean. The sponsored activities are of various forms, but
normally cover:
provision of a wide range of information via networks of research institutes or
libraries, or by on-line means, including Web sites and e-mail discussion fora;
major conferences focusing on specific research or environmental themes
relating to specific geographic areas, such as Baltic or Mediterranean;
conferences focusing on technologies applicable to marine and coastal
research, e.g. remote sensing as applied to marine research, modelling
techniques for coastal research, etc.;
