Description: Filaments of this species
are single or occasionally intertwined,
coiled irregularly, or almost straight.
Cells are 1.8–2.5 µm wide and 1.2–4 µm
long. Cross-walls are not narrowed and
are sometimes with a granule. End cell
is rounded, not tapering, and sheath is
thin and colorless. This species is a food
supplement (John, 2002).
