Family: Ranidae
Common name: Indian green frog,
Indian five-fingered frog.
Distribution: Bangladesh, India, Nepal,
Sri Lanka (AmphibiaWeb, 2014a).
Habitat: Marshy or damp places; near
ponds, agricultural fields, and water of
stagnant nature; brackish water.
Description: Size of males is 90 mm
and that of females is 130 mm. It has
a flattish snout with indistinct canthus rostalis. Tympanum is distinct
and equal to or slightly less than the
diameter of the eye. First finger is longer than or equal to the second, and
toes are fully webbed. Coloration
of the body is bright grass green or
olive green above with or without
a pale yellow vertebral stripe line
from snout to vent. Ventrally and on
flanks it is white or yellowish white
(AmphibiaWeb, 2014a).
