Distribution: This species has a broad
head and back tapers abruptly to
tail. Mouth opening is a little inferior
with two large teeth in each jaw. Gill
opening is very much reduced and is
restricted in front of the pectoral base.
Eyes are large. Dorsal fin is placed well
back and above the origin of the anal
fin. All fins are rounded. Body is greenish yellow with white abdomen. A light
band is seen between the eyes. A large
black ocellus surrounded by a light
edge is noticed on the side anterior to
the origin of the anal fin. It grows to a
maximum length of only 15 cm (Bashar,
2010c).
