Common name: Bronze featherback.
Distribution: Pakistan, India, Nepal,
Bangladesh, Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, and
Indonesia (Froese and Pauly, 2014c).
Habitat: Fresh and brackish waters;
lentic waters.
Description: Body of the species is
highly compressed. Dorsal and ventral profiles are equally convex. Scales
are minute. Dorsal fin is short. Anal
fin is long and confluent with the caudal fin. Body color is silvery-white
with many fine gray spots on the body
and head. Lateral line is present with
230–240 scales. Juveniles possess a
number of dark vertical bars on the
body. It grows to a maximum length
of 60 cm (Froese and Pauly, 2014c).
