Description: Body of this species is
elongated and compressed. Upper jaw
is slightly longer than the lower jaw.
Eyes are large. Body is whitish transparent with a light greenish back.
A total of three or four longitudinal
bands are present on the flank. Caudal
fin is forked and caudal base has a black
spot. Barbels are in four pairs. Dorsal
spine is long and serrate. This species
grows to a maximum size of only 15 cm
(Galib, 2008).

Description: Body of this species is

Mouth is subinferior and upper jaw
is slightly longer than lower jaw.
Upper surface of head is covered with
thin layer of skin and upper region is
slightly concave. A narrow adipose
lid is present in each eye. Barbels are
in pairs. Dorsal and pelvic fins are
absent. Caudal fin is forked, and lower
lobe is slightly longer than upper lobe.
Body is silvery. Upper surface of head
is faint to black. A large black spot is
present in the upper edge of the dorsal
fin, and the anal fin base is yellowish.
This species grows to a maximum size
of only 10 cm (Nayan, 2011b).
