Description: This species is deepbodied and equipped with a long dorsal fin divided into two sections. Dorsal
fin has 10 spines and 29–32 rays. Body is
silvery in color without distinctive tail
fin spot. It grows to a maximum size
of 95 cm and 24.7 kg (Texas Parks and
Wildlife Foundation, 2014).
