Sediment core samples were collected from the three locations, namely Airoli,
Ghansoli and Koparkhairane, with a gravity corer of 5 cm diameter. Cores were
frozen immediately after collection. Upon arrival at the laboratory, all the
samples except those to be used for the percent moisture content experiment
were freeze-dried.
Biological samples (fish and crabs) were collected during the May 1995 cruise
by the fishermen in IIC area where water and sediment samples were collected.
