LDWF’s Law Enforcement Division is
responsible for ensuring compliance
with rules and regulations through
regular patrols and investigations.
LDWF partners with NOAA Fisheries
and U.S. Coast Guard enforcement
agents and officers to increase their
enforcement capabilities and carry out their important mission in Louisiana’s
waters and beyond. Penalties for violations vary with the severity of the violation
and include fines, jail time, loss of fishing license, and forfeiture of property.
