RESULTS

A total of 533 and 528 immature individuals of Coryphaena
hippurus were collected during 1981, and 1982 respectively.
The individuals were collected from late August to November;
,
these are the only months of the year in which C. hz‘ppürus is present
in Tripoli coasts.

The results of this study are presented in tables 1 and 2, and
gures 3—6.

The monthly percent number of C. hzppurus caught during
1981 and
1982 are given in table 1 and gure 3. The table and figure
show
that
the
highest numbers were caught» during September
(66,98% and 72,54% for 1981 and 1982 respectively), and the lowest
.
numbers were caught in August (0,3 8% and 10,8% for 1981 and
1982 respectively), and in November (12,01% and 0,3 8% for 1981
and 1982 respectively).

The monthly mean weights of C. hz‘ppurus caught during 1981

and
1982 are represented in table 1 and gure 4. The table and gure
"
show that, there is a gradual increase in weights during the sampling
period from August throught "November (325-1000 grams) fofÏ_both
years of 1981 and 1982.

Table 1 and gure 4 indicatethat weights of individuals at a
given month were in general, nearly the same. This can be gured out
from the small of the standard deviation for a_given month.
