CONCLUSIONS.
Many advances have been made
in
recent
years
in
the
understanding
fish
lipid metabolism related to various functions including
Important contributions, not discussed here, have been made in elucidatùŒ
the metabolism of vitellogenin.
Much, however, remains to be done from the
ecological,
physiological
and
biochemical
perspectives
including
the
integration of these approaches.
Of
particular value would be further work
on
metabolic
pathways
of
lipogenesis,
hormonal
and
thermal
influences
on
lipid metabolism,
and
the
integration of this work with overall metaboLü
strategies.
