In
Czechoslovakia,
a
mobile
harvesting system
is
used
for
harvesting
large ponds with the following machines
:
mechanized dip net, bucket eleva—
tor,
sorting table and electric generator.
A
mobile harvesting system using
a
hydraulic
dip
net
and
a
mobile sorting trailor is in operation at Bikal
State Farm
in Hungary ; however the fish are lifted from a built—in concrete
canal
where
they are concentrated by an electric motor—driven metal screen
on
rails.
.
Mobile elevators
are
also used in Israel as integral parts of a complex
harvesting system.
The
fish
are
sorted
either
on
the
embankment
or
at
the
packing center of the
farm.
A
stationary harvesting center was built at a
central
place in the Biharugra State Farm in Hungary for harvesting several
ponds with a total surface area of about 67 ha. The fish are collected in a
prestorage pond by draining the water through long drainage canals. Freshwa—
ter
intake
helps to collect the fish there by attracting them to the water
inlet
in
the
prestorage pond.
The
fish
are
finally concentrated by an elec—
tric motor—operated metal screen and then conveyed by a bucket elevator into
a
building where they are sorted and weighed manually (fig. 5).

TRANSPORTATION
'
The transportation of different processed fish products and of ornamen—
ba1t and cold—water fishes is widely publicized but less information is
available on the transportation of carp and related species, although these
spec1es have always been transported.
For
