the suggested method is the use of the two-pulse holographic interferometry for the
detection of shift and deformations of points of the human body surface and processes
in the human organism. The mechanic waves occurring during heart contraction
spread in the tissues, which surround the body and preserve the form of oscillation
of the source generating them. When they reach the chest, these waves cause shift
of its surface and bear information about the state of the source itself as well as of
the medium, in which they are spread.
Corresponding holographic interferograms can be registered using the two-laser
regime of the ruby laser and synchronizing the process of hologram recording in the
chest area in different phases of the cardiac cycle. The distribution of the interference
fringe on the surface of the chest image corresponding to the shift field of the surface
points gives the possibility to get the idea about the nature of cardiac murmurs and
functional state of the corresponding valve or of a cardio muscle area, as well as
information about regional and local dynamics on the whole chest area.
The suggested development is based on scientific achievements of the Institute of
Physics, Electronics and Applied Physics of the Academy of Sciences of the BSSR,
the Institute of Neurology, Neurosurgery and Physiotherapy of the Ministry of Health
of the Republic of Belarus and the Institute of Cardiology of the Ministry of Health
of the Republic of Belarus. The development of the holographic cardiograph and the
study with its help were conducted under the leadership and direct participation of
L.V. Tanin and in close collaboration with the specialists of the above-mentioned
institutes. There is no analogous instrument to the developed laser-holographic
complex.
In the created laser-holographic complex, a two-pulse ruby laser with tunable
pulse interval was used, which exceeds the well-known domestic and foreign analogs
(Apollo Laser, Quanta Ray, Quantronics, Rottencolber) in their spectral energetic
characteristics and in radiation coherence. These parameters are crucial and give the
possibility to investigate a large area of the human body surface in a broad frequency
range at the same time and, thus, to obtain full and trustworthy information about
the state of one’s functional systems.
3.3.1 Structure of the Laser and Holographic Complex
for Determining the State of Human Circulatory System
The block diagram of the laser-holographic complex is presented in Figs. 3.31, 3.32
and 3.33.
It includes:
• the ruby laser with a high-voltage power unit and cooling unit;
• the high-voltage control unit with electrooptical shutter;
• the optical system for illuminating beam formation;
• the optical system for the formation of recording and restoration beams with an
electrooptical system of their spatial separation;
