3 Holographic Interferometry for Studying …
in holographic contouring as well as in the whole holographic interferometry, there
exists a problem of absolute sequence order detecting of interference fringes.
Besides it must be pointed out that holographic contouring appeared as a sensitivity roughening, which is characterized by an efficient wavelength reaching several
centimeters. The hologram recording and its observation are conducted in ordinary
light waves. The appeared discontinuity in sensitivity of holographic contouring and
holographic interferometry was compensated in two ways. By lowering the efficient wavelength to several millimeters, it became possible to diminish significantly
the depth interval between the contour bands. In its turn, narrowing of interference
maxima allowed enhancing the accuracy of their location detection on the surface
under study. Some aspects of absolute relief detection will be described in this chapter.
The generation mode of pulses with regulated repetition interval and high spatial
and temporal radiation coherence is of great interest for the contemporary medicine.
One of its important and urgent tasks is to develop and implement coherent-optical
(holographic and speckle-optical) methods and to create on their basis new equipment
of new generation for remote noninvasive disease diagnosing, especially during mass
examination of population: of laser-holographic complex (laser cardiograph) and
laser specklometer.
Nowadays, the contemporary medicine is in great need of creation and introduction of new contactless distant noninvasive methods of study of physiological state of
a human organism. A perspective tendency for development of such methods is implementation of the latest achievements in the sphere of holography and holographic
interferometry.
Their implementation in the applied medicine will promote early diagnostics
of pathological anomalies in cardiovascular and nervous systems. This gives the
possibility to provide timely treatment of diseases, which are most widespread and
hardly defined on early stages that will decrease the number of people with chronic
diseases and reduce the duration of temporary disability.
The laser-holographic complex is an equipment of a new class, which helps to
study the activity of cardiovascular system, respiratory organs, muscular systems, etc.
The complex principle of operation is based on the detection and analysis of shift of
points of human chest surface, which are caused by the activity of mechanical waves
that appear under cardiac contraction.
The examination of functional state of human cardiovascular system occurs via
oscillation recording of skin in a holographic interferogram with its further automated
computer processing.
Usage of double-pulse mode of ruby laser radiation generation and its synchronization with the process of chest hologram recording in different phases of the
cardiologic cycle gives the possibility to form relevant holographic interferograms
of different states of human chest surface.
The formed graphic pattern of the field shifts in different phases of the cardiologic
cycle makes it possible to get information about the interference fringe distribution
in the image of chest surface, which corresponds to the region of surface of the movement points. As a result of comprehensive analysis of holographic interferograms,
it will be possible to get the idea of cardiac murmurs and of the functional state of
