Chapter 14
Electrical Testing Technology of Lunar
Lander
14.1 Introduction
After system assembly and integration of the lunar lander was completed, the system
electrical integration test should be conducted. The integration test was an important
step in development of the lunar lander, which ran through the whole process from
system integration to launch. The integrated system development was composed
of system design, instrument development, assembly and integration and system
electrical test.
The contents of electrical testing included testing requirement proposal, testing
plan design, ground support system development, testing method design, testing
implementation and testing result evaluation. In this chapter, the focus is on the
contents in testing design phase, and the design methods and rationales are introduced. The contents include technology development status, requirements and technical characteristics, electrical testing plan, ground support system and electrical
testing methods, and etc.
14.2 Development Status
Along with progress of space science and technology, the integrated test technology
of spacecraft is developing gradually all over the world. Combined with test technology for missile, ship, airborne equipment and other equipment, an integrated test
platform of cross-domain and cross-arms has been developed. Typical examples are
the SCOS2000 of ESA [1], the CASS of the United States Navy, the LM STAR of
the United States Air Force for the stealth fighter, as well as the next generation of
automatic test (NxTest) [2] developed by the United States Department of Defense
(DoD) and etc. The characteristics of integrated test technology development are
listed as follows.
