12 Integration and Assembly Technology of Lunar Lander
site, including instrument assembly, mechanism deployment, accuracy test, leak test,
mass property test, fuel load and electrical performance testing. The technological
process of re-assembly at launch site was refined and implemented successfully,
which accumulated valuable experience for future re-assembly of Chinese deep space
probes at launch site.
12.6 Summary
The development of spacecraft is a complex system engineering involving different
locations, facilities and subjects. The system integration and assembly of spacecraft is the final step of spacecraft development. Its implementation quality directly
determines the performance of spacecraft on orbit and success of mission. Therefore, the system integration and assembly is the key step to ensure smooth development of spacecraft, which is also guarantee for system performance and function of
spacecraft.
In this chapter, the development status of spacecraft system integration and
assembly technology is introduced as well as the characteristics of system integration
and assembly of the Chang’E-3 lunar lander. The detail design of system integration and assembly of the Chang’E-3 lunar lander is described, including systematic
process design, technological equipment planning, technological test planning, technological process design, digital assembly simulation, and etc. As an example, the
development practice and typical application of system integration and assembly
of the Chang’E-3 lunar lander is introduced, such as instrument assembly, cable
assembly, propulsion subsystem assembly, lift and transshipment.
