spaceships will dock.

NASA calls the LOP-G “a base outpost for future human
exploration of space”,
105
but it could very likely be a prototype of a Battle Star
between the Earth and the Moon, a spaceport
106
protected by weapons launched
from our planet.
Professor Carlo Pelanda writes:
It is therefore likely that the US Grand Strategy is about regaining dominance of planet Earth with enough allies to exercise it, maximizing the only
power factor that it still certainly has: technological superiority. Such a picture already seems clear in the drafts of the project of the lunar orbit station
that it is a precursor to exo-planetary infrastructures for spaceships capable
of controlling Earth’s orbit better than anyone else. This control, then, combined with energy or other weapons already in development since the nineties, would render useless all the weapons of the competing nations, including
cyber ones, which are technologically lagging behind on this front. The
architecture in the lunar project includes the US, European and Japanese
space agencies. This supports a scenario, albeit vague, where in the end there
will be two regions, namely China – which will try to fight back – and the G7
with more inclusions. If so, the dollar area will remain dominant.
107
It is plausible that NASA’s LOP-G, which will be discussed extensively in the
next chapter, represents a real system to operate in distant space in an autonomous
way with respect to Earth stations.
In 1958, Sen. Lyndon Johnson declared to Congress that control of space was
the real strategic goal of the US:
There is something more important than any weapon, and it is holding the
highest position. The point for total control over Earth is somewhere in
Space. This is the distant future, although not as distant as we may have
thought. Whoever gains that final position gains total control over the Earth,
for the sake of tyranny or for freedom.
108
This strategic assumption has always been a pillar of US military doctrine, to
the point that Professor Everett Dolmann, Professor of Strategy at the US Air
Force Air Command and Staff College and author of the book Astropolitik, writes,
