Pascal Saint-Hilaire
He is an Assistant Research Physicist at the Space Sciences Laboratory (SSL) of the
University of California, Berkeley. Since his arrival in Berkeley in 2005, he has been
active in the NASA Ramaty High Energy Solar Spectroscopic Imager (RHESSI)
science and operations team. The bulk of his observational work has concentrated
on X-ray data analysis of solar flares, and solar radio observations ranging from low
frequencies to microwaves. He has also made a few excursions in other fields, notably sungrazer comets, polarized visible light from flare loops, and extragalactic
radio bursts. Space instrumentation and mission design in radio and X-rays are his
current focus. He is the PI of the NASA GRIPS (Gamma-Ray Imager/Polarimeter
for Solar flares) high altitude balloon payload which flew in 2016.

She is a Korean-American astrophysicist known for her observational research on
cosmic rays. She is Professor of Physics at the University of Maryland, College
Park, where she is affiliated to the Institute for Physical Science and Technology
and heads up the Cosmic Ray Physics Group. She served as a co-investigator on
international astrophysical collaborations including the Advanced Thin Ionization
Calorimeter, Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer, and Balloon-borne Experiment with
