Raven Aerostar offers highly trained teams for safe and efficient operation of a
variety of aerial platforms. Its Flight Services teams offer turnkey launch, flight
management, and recovery operations. It also trains client personnel to perform
flight campaigns.
5.4.4 Field Support
Field Service representatives and equipment operators support Raven Aerostar
clients in the field with on-site assistance, equipment maintenance, repair, and
optimization on a daily basis as required to support the flight or campaign. To
ensure mission success a customer also has “reach back” support at a second’s
notice, 24/7, by phone and email to the Raven Aerostar plant for consultation during and after a flight.
5.4.5 Training Programs
Raven Aerostar maintains a dedicated hangar and year-round flight operations
facility in South Dakota and delivers successful mission operations and tailored
training programs. And its Field Service representatives are fully equipped with
manuals, course materials, and hands-on training.
The company makes available the most advanced and reliable lighter-than-air
technologies in the stratospheric market to help customers accomplish dynamic
missions, including communications, data relay, surveillance, intelligence, and
more.
5.4.6 Flight Systems
Raven Aerostar’s Super-Pressure Balloons provide ground-breaking scientific,
engineering and communication advances in the stratosphere. Its balloons allow
long duration missions to be executed at a fraction of the cost and time of a low
Earth orbit mission. With a design that ensures optimal stability these platforms
offer the flexibility to refresh payload technology, recover payload equipment, and
in some cases re-use mission equipment. Increased detection, recognition, and
identification capabilities can be achieved by line of sight sensors that are integrated into the platform.
Applications include:
• Scientific data collection.
• Persistent surveillance, reconnaissance, and intelligence gathering.
• Remote communications.
• GPS augmentation.
