developed a standardized mass production system with the goal of “making automobiles affordable for all employees,” and as a result productivity dramatically
improved, prices of automobiles were reduced to a tenth, resulting in 100 times
more people were buying cars. This caused a positive spiral that expanded the market size by tenfold. Such is the basic relationship between innovation and economic
growth. However, does that mean that there are no more seeds of economic growth
in developed countries, in which people already have a given level of material
wealth?
