essential that initiatives are created from the viewpoint of the national land
conservation. Ito En’s experience is instructive in indicating the direction of corporate-led solutions.
Furthermore, mankind will soon face food shortages. Maintaining a stable supply of wood is also a serious challenge. If Japan fully engages in forestry, it can
achieve self-sufficiency in wood, forests will be preserved, and mountains will be
maintained. Maintenance of forests in southern regions will become easier, being
relieved from the burden of overcutting in order to meet the export demand from
Japan.
It is necessary to maintain a systematic perspective when examining the trees,
forests, Japan, and the world at large.
Health Support and Self-Reliance Support Are Important
Industries
There are concerns that longevity would lead to a stagnation of the economy. Such
concerns are not unfounded, as it cannot be denied that elderly individuals do indeed
possess less motivation for consumption than to young people. However, they have
a stronger desire for health and self-reliance compared to young people. Demand
emerges where there are needs, and if there is supply, economic activities will
emerge. Therefore, new industries should emerge in the aging society.
The structure of medical services in the past was that for diseases, there were
clear causes such as pathogenic bacteria and viruses, and drugs would be used to
combat those causes. However, many people today are plagued by symptoms that
