35.2 AE Testing of Pipelines During Hydraulic Pressure
Test
Pipeline testing on TPP during hydraulic pressure test is typical task which is decided
by means of AE method, but for extended objects testing, such as pipelines it is
not convenient to use standard systems with parallel channels connection. The good
decision is using AE systems with serial connection of channels. The example of such
type of systems is DDM type systems with digital data transfer channel, produced
by INERUNIS-IT company (Fig. 35.1).
At this moment 2 version of system exist (DDM1 and DDM2). For example,
for basic configuration of systems with 2 lines, it is possible to connect up to 32
channels for DDM1 and up to 40 channels for DDM2 (Table 35.1). By means of
serial modules connection, with distances between 2 nearest modules up to 100 and
150 m for DDM1 and DDM2, it is possible to test long sections of pipelines by 1
loading cycle.
