10.1 Introduction
As part of the project, a two-stage gasifier of 20 kWe capacity, with simple cleaning
and cooling system, has been developed, tested and localized to Indian conditions.
The experience so far has demonstrated high-quality gas (tar < 25 mg/m
3 ), low
specific fuel consumption, and no wastewater generation in cleaning and cooling.
Table 10.1 shows the efficiency of the two-stage gasifier system developed in cooperation between The Energy and Resource Institute (TERI) and Technical University
of Denmark, and Fig. 10.1 shows the process flow diagram of the system.
