Fig. 8 Layers of the corrugated sheet
1. Single face board (SFB): Single faced board or sheet is made of two layers of
paper one corrugated and one plain. This is also known as the corrugated sheet.
2. Single wall board (SWB): Single wall board is made of three layers of paper;
the inner layer is corrugated, which is covered by a plain sheet on both sides.
This sheet can be formed into boxes and generally used for cheaper products
with strength in themselves as this sheet can bend easily.
3. Double wall board (DWB): Similar to single wall board, it contains five layers
of paper of which two layers are corrugated, and three are plain. The boxes
made of this sheet are good in strength.
4. Triple wall board (TWB): This board contains three layers of corrugated sheets
and four layers of plain sheets. This sheet is generally used to protect the products
from outside impacts. Expensive alcohols are packaged in boxes made of such
sheets.
