or demolition [18], developing these in an independent but coordinated manner.
Finally, Freire et al. [19] developed a methodology capable of determining the EF of
the elements that form part of the traditional construction cost databases, approaching
it from a new “environmental budget” perspective, using the tools normally employed
in building project budgets.
This research responds to the complete evaluation of the BLC through the application of the environmental indicator EF. It is proposed with a methodology based
on building project quantities, to which environmental coefficients calculated of the
different categories will be applied. With this idea of environmental budget (where
materials, manpower and machinery are considered), we want to promote good
management and study in the design phase of the building project, to opt for solutions
“cheaper” environmentally and that, consequently, reduce the environmental impact
in the BLC.
For the development of the research, a bibliographic review of the available models
and environmental indicators applied to the different stages of the BLC has been
previously carried out, both in an isolated way and as a whole. With all this, the
objectives and methodology to be followed in order to respond to this research work
have been established. Once the limits of the system are established, the duration of
the phases is applied to an actual project of a residential building in Andalusia (Spain).
The results obtained are classified and analysed according to various criteria in order
