2016). The device installed in Bengaluru (Fig. 12.2) is much smaller and not sufficient to clean up the polluted air of the city. A Delhi-based start-up has also installed
a 40-feet tall air purifier that can clean 32 million m
3
/day (Mathew 2020).
Considering massive air to be cleaned up in cities, a different approach may be
required. Disease spread can be fast or slow. In fast scenario, many people get sick
at same time, and with rapid progress of ailment spread, healthcare system becomes
unable to handle it and there will not be sufficient medical resources – medical staff,
equipment and medicine – and people will die unattended. As more healthcare personnel get sick themselves, the capacity of healthcare system falls even further that
leads to scenarios where decision has to be taken who gets life and who does not.
