Apart from households, the waste generating from commercial, research, healthcare, industry operations generates a variety of wastes that need different setup as
government cannot take responsibility of all wastes. Instead, the government can
facilitate setting of array of waste management centres that include:
• Waste collection points/centres.
• Treatment storage disposal facility (TSDF).
• Waste dismantling facility.
• Waste recycling facility.
• Waste to energy facility.
• Common biomedical waste treatment and disposal facility.
• Co-processing units.
• Waste transfer points.
In recent years, many governments across the world are promoting private investors to set up waste management facility by providing land, grant, soft loans and
subsidy.
