Hydro-extraction:
Hydro-extraction is carried out in order to remove excess solution and water on the
fabric or garment.
Tumble Drying:
This is done to dry the fabric or garment immediately. After the pre-treatment, coding
of samples, finish application, and further evaluations were conducted.
2.1.4 Sample Codes
The samples were coded to preliminary work 1, preliminary work 2, Job Profile 1,
Job Profile 2, and Job Profile 3 as A, B, C, D, and E, respectively. According to
finishes selected, their combinations are coded as 100, 200, 300, and so on; also,
GSM 9, 11, and 13 oz as 10, 20, and 30, respectively. In addition, control sample was
denoted as CS in each preliminary work and Job Profile. Total number of samples
tested was 87 samples (Tables 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9).
2.1.5 Preliminary Work
The preliminary experimental work was carried out to get an insight into the various
commercially available anti-microbial finishes, their recommended recipes, also their
