oxide has the characteristics of gradual transformation, plus a high temperature (more
than 1000 °C) and a high-pressure environment. Therefore, the reduction reaction of
iron oxide in this area is mainly the reduction of liquid Wustite.
The Principle of Simultaneous Equilibrium
Simultaneous equilibrium [13] means that two or more reactions that influence each
other proceed at the same time and reach equilibrium in the actual reaction system,
and the equilibrium composition can be determined by the number of independent reactions. Based on this principle, a thermodynamic model of carbon reduction Wustite and a thermodynamic model of hydrogenation reduction Wustite are
established, as illustrated in Fig. 1.
The Principle of Minimum Gibbs Free Energy
The principle of minimum free energy [7, 14, 15] was first proposed by White in
1958. Its basic principle is that the total free energy is minimum when the system
reaches thermodynamic equilibrium for a multi-phase system, the minimum Gibbs
free energy thermodynamic model is as follows:
min G =
M
i=1
n i G i =
M
i=1
n i
G
i + RT ln a i
Based on the above two principles, a thermodynamic model is established for
subsequent balance calculations and thermodynamic analysis.
