The underpinning “policy instruments” box aims at understanding the nature
of the relevant policy supports and mechanisms developed by the governments
of the targeted APAC countries. Eventually, the research aims at determining if
the policy mechanisms supporting the renewable energy and the renewable hydrogen production are developed in isolation or if they are integrated to support the
decarbonisation of carbon intensive industry sectors.
The three research instruments discussed in section 2.4 are utilized to explore
the renewable hydrogen framework in the five targeted countries:
(1) The documentation review of the relevant grey and scientific literature,
(2) The expert interview in a form a semi-structured interview,
(3) The survey of the APAC countries targeted for the current research work.
