‘It depends on how you interpret a green infrastructure,
so I will come at it from an ecological infrastructure
perspective because that’s the field I am more familiar
with and I sit within a biodiversity department’
(Respondent 9) (p. 87)
‘Coming from an environmental planning department,
the biodiversity that is closest to my heart is a green
infrastructure, for its intrinsic value. However, it is also
about the services it provides to humans. So, when we
communicate about it is as a green infrastructure, it is
all about your natural ecosystems, but also created
ecosystems by humans, so that is immediately different
to the biodiversity side. All the natural infrastructures,
e.g. the ecological process or physical processes like
filtering water, that is green infrastructure and the
services that they provide to humans and how we
communicate, quantify and use services and the need
for the management of green infrastructure to advance
job creation’ (Respondent 16)
