The dynamic measurement system’s RFID antenna uses Larid A9028 far-field
antenna. Antenna’s maximum reading range is about 12 m. We use the Speedway
Revolution R420 UHF reader as the RFID reader. Distance measuring sensor is
X1TA101MHT88 laser distance measuring sensor from Germany Wenglor.
The following are the detection steps in cargo transportation under different
ambient humidity. First, the pallet is mounted on a transport device, and a box with an
RFID tag is put on the pallet. Then, an RFID reader and a plurality of RFID antennas
are mounted on the antenna frame. Laser rangefinder aimed at the experiment box.
Finally, we set the conveyor speed to simulate the cargo unloading process.
If the tagged product enters the RFID tag reader’s reading range, the antenna emits
electromagnetic waves to activate the tag, then the tag reflects the electromagnetic
waves to transmit the information in the tag, and the reader activates the laser ranging
radar. Therefore, the distance from the antenna to the tag can be calculated as the
distance of the product from the antenna.
(3) Experimental Method and Result analysis
We chose three types of box thicknesses for testing. The data is shown in
Table 3.3. The data shows that the impact of different thickness plastic test chamber
on the RFID tag’s reading range is negligible. Considering the test chamber’s cabinet
