Y. Bai et al.
Yingjie Bai received his B.Sc. degree from Peking University in
2017. He is currently conducting his Ph.D. research under the
supervision of Prof. Xiaoguang Lei at Peking University. His
research focuses on the biological functions of human endogenous lipids.
Liyun Zhang obtained her Ph.D. degree from the University of
Minnesota, Twin Cities in 2016. Her Ph.D. thesis focused on
the identification and characterization of bioactive compounds
from complex matrices, under the direction of Prof. Devin
G. Peterson. After graduation, she worked as a postdoctoral
research scientist on the topdown proteomics analysis of large
molecules under the guidance of Emeritus Prof. Jack Henion
of Cornell University. In 2019, she moved back to China
and became an Associate Professor in the research group of
Prof. Xiaoguang Lei at Peking University. Currently, her main
research interest is chemoproteomics and metabolomics.
Xiaoguang Lei obtained a B.S. in chemistry from Peking
University in 2001, and a Ph.D. in organic synthesis from
Boston University in 2006. Then, he conducted postdoctoral
work at Columbia University. In early 2009, he returned to
China and started his independent career as a Principal Investigator and the Director of Chemistry Center at National Institute of Biological Sciences (NIBS) in Beijing. In early 2014,
he received a tenured professorship from Peking University
and moved to the College of Chemistry at Peking University. Now, he is a Full Professor of Chemistry and Chemical
Biology and also a senior PI of the Peking-Tsinghua Center for
Life Sciences. His major research areas are chemical biology,
natural product synthesis, synthetic biology, and drug discovery.
To date, he has published more than 100 original research
papers, including in “Cell”, “Nature”, and “Science”, and has
obtained more than ten approved patents for new drug discovery.
He has received many prestigious awards including the 2018
David Ginsburg Award in Israel, the 2017 Tetrahedron Young
Investigator Award, the 2017 Swiss Chemical Society Distinguished Lectureship Award, the 2015 Chemical Society of
Japan Distinguished Lectureship Award, the 2014 Roche Young
