Three new nor-cinalbicane (240–242) and one eremophilene (243) sesquiterpenoid were isolated from the stems of Jasminum officinale collected from Nyingchi
County, Tibet Autonomous Region, China. The structures of jasminols A (240), G
(241), H (242), and B (243) were elucidated on the basis of NMR and mass spectrometric analysis. The absolute configurations of 240–242 were determined as (4S)
and that for 243 as (4S,5R) by single-crystal X-ray diffraction using the anomalous
dispersion of Cu Kα radiation. The reported values for the Flack parameters were −
0.02 for 240, 0.00 for 242, and 0.03 for 243. The four compounds (240–243) showed
moderate anti-inflammatory activity, as evaluated by means of their inhibition of
lipopolysaccharide-induced nitric oxide production in RAW264.7 macrophage cells
[107].
